Comments: There are many family genealogy sheets showing Mary Davis, daughter of Giles Davis. This was based on a land record in Preble Co., OH in the 1820s.
Based on marriage records since discovered in Nelson Co., KY we find that Mary Davis was actually Mary Carr, a widow, who married Moses Davis on 8 Nov 1787 with Samuel Case standing in surety. This would prove an in-law connection with Giles Davis rather than a paternal.
